Why Coach?

You have never travelled by coach. Where do you begin? You have seen ads in newspapers, been sent brochures and heard advertising on the radio. The prices may vary substantially from company to company and so do the services. The questions you might be asking yourself are why is this one so inexpensive compared to others. Like most things, you get what you pay for. It is good to ask a lot of questions.

When considering a bus trip inquire about such things as luggage handling, quality of hotels and motels, do they use a reputable bus company with newer coaches and professional, seasoned drivers. Do they offer at home pick up and return, which is offered as a free service by some companies. Do they have professional quality Tour Directors and knowledgeable office staff? Can they offer you cancellation and or medical insurance? Are you covered if the coach company cancels a trip? You may also be thinking why would I choose coach travel?

Consider this, planning a vacation can be tough. Sometimes you just want to get away for a break but you are not even sure where you want to go. By calling a reputable company they can help you plan a vacation that will suit your time frame and your budget. Most companies offer a wide variety of destinations ranging from one day trips up to monthly trips. Many people have a fear of flying or have been to many places but have never seen the countryside between departure and arrival of their destination. Most newer coaches today have foot rests, reclining seats, tinted windows or blinds, CD or tape players, VCR’s, TV Monitors, and washroom facilities. Seats are comfortable and roomy. Some tour companies will reserve special seating for people with walking problems or motion sickness. Walkers can also be taken and transported in the luggage compartment and taken out at stops as needed by the passenger.

Going by coach is about the journey. You can go from rainforest to desert in a few days. You can watch the scenery change before your eyes, along with the temperature. When traveling by coach, be aware that temperatures and climates can vary greatly in a matter of a couple of days and pack accordingly.
On your trip you might want to pack a camera, book, small pillow, snacks, any medications you might need, knitting, or anything you might like to do on the coach. These things can be taken in a carry on bag and held in the overhead compartments. One carry-on and one suitcase is usually the limit on most coach tours.

A Professional Tour Director on board will provide you with commentary along the route and entertain you with movies, music, games, and create camaraderie among the passengers. Tour Directors also ensure proper accommodations, keep you informed about special events etc. In case of accident or illness a Tour Director will do their utmost to help.

Travelling with a group of friends is easy because your tour company can look after the details of keeping you seated together on the coach or adjacent to each other at the hotel.

Travelling by coach can also entitle you to some incentives that are only given to groups such as coupons, free meals, and bonuses.

So considering you can pack your bags and be picked up right at your door, by some companies, and not worry about the car being serviced, are the breaks okay or will there be a hotel available and other worries, a coach tour could be a wonderful way to go. A reputable company has all the details of your trip worked out for you in advance and routes and stops are well planned to put you in the right place at the right time. Most coaches stop regularly every two to three hours for coffee breaks and or meals.

Dollar for dollar coach travel is a fun and economical way to go.
